PAD Part 6 (And I have a tattoo!)

The program from the Globe to Globe production of Hamlet (I went diving with the guy on the left)

Monday Night Sunset

Meeting the Director of the Peace Corps. I was lucky enough to be able to meet and talk with her one on one for a few minutes. One of the projects I'm helping with is a Girls ICT Camp, to be held in August, and was invited to come to a tea while Lynda Mae (another volunteer who has been organizing the project) presented to the Director. She loved it, and is potentially presenting it to Michelle Obama to illustrate how Let Girls Learn is playing out in the Peace Corps! (Photo credit to Laura Loveland)

Another sunset. Can you tell I like these pictures?

The eating area/courtyard of Pacific Paradise, the hotel we stay at in Vila. Apologies for the blurry picture!

Heading back to Ambae in a very small plane. Yes, Aaron is sitting shotgun.

Back to work, inputting data from the assessment I did at the PEO

Having fun at Thomas', making a mobile. Credit goes to Aaron for this beautiful construction.

It's been really windy since coming back, meaning a lot of waves. Aaron and Lea have been stuck on Ambae for 8 days now, waiting for the waves to be smaller so they can cross back to Maewo (seen in the distance on the left)

Forgot to get an actual picture of my first workshop, but here's the summary of what I taught

Yep, here's another one.

PENAMA province flag

Getting my kastom Ambae volcano tattoo (sorry mom and dad!) It was quite painful, but I'm really happy with how it turned out! As my dad warned though, it does look a little like a prison tattoo...all part of the experience! The two lines represent the two lakes at the top of Manaro (the Ambae volcano). The tradition is that only those that have climbed to the top of the mountain can get the tattoo.

Bonus tattoo pictures:

The new Ambae volcano tattoos

Despite that smile, it was really quite painful

Finished product

Maybe a little bloody...

Cade and Russel with their chest tattoos. Dat shaved hair!

Avery got one too, but in Vila, so didn't make it in the other picture

And one last thing, AKA check out this cool video PC Vanuatu made!
