Sometimes, people burn trash...it smells about as good as it looks
Don't know who painted this, or why, but I like it. It's on the wall of the guest kitchen, facing the eating area at my parents guest house
Slumber party at Thomas' with Kathleen the night before heading to the airport
Ready to board the plane for Vila for MST (Mid-Service Training)
One year since swearing-in! Glad we all got to be there to celebrate together. We've got a pretty solid group of volunteers. A little smaller than we were a year ago (19 of the original 31), but we're still going strong!
Watching the Amicale FC game at a nakamal with Kathleen's brother. You can see probably about half of the crowd in this picture. It's easy to get stuck in the Peace Corps bubble while in Vila, and it's nice to get out and see what the non-Peace Corps/Ex-pat communities are like in Vila.
Day 2 of MST
Kava with friends!
Hangin' with the help desk techs at OGCIO (Office of the Government Chief Information Officer)
One year since starting the project!
On the way back to Ambae!
Marine Reach, and their ship the Pacific Hope will be coming to Ambae/Maewo at the end of June, and some of the people organizing it came to Ambae to do some initial scouting. I helped them out (arranging transportation, housing, and meetings), then sent them on their way to Maewo.
The view from my office every day (this should be a picture from yesterday, but I may have forgotten to take one...so you get two today. Shhh. No one needs to know that I cheat on this project sometimes!)
