A successful catch!
A coconut plantation; these are quite abundant in Vanuatu, and are used for producing copra (the dried meat of a coconut used to extract coconut oil)
A plastic full of kava
This bugger's got some teeth on it! I can attest to the fact that it tasted quite delicious though.
My dad's homemade wood-fire oven
Getting ready to cut some brownies (thanks mom and dad!)
Day 1 of Pacific Hope Medical Ship clinic (I'll write a blog post talking more about this week soon)
Pacific Hope Medical Ship Day 2: Our boat broke down on the way to West Ambae to pick up some patients, so we got towed back to the ship
Pacific Hope Day 3: A glasses clinic at the hospital on West Ambae
Pacific Hope Day 4: Headed to Maewo to talk to the health center and check out the place the ship would weigh anchor. Unfortunately, the sea turned out to be too rough, and the Maewo part of the trip was cancelled
Pacific Hope Day 5: Inside the church where the main clinic was hosted
The life of a Provincial Volunteer...sometimes you come home and have friends waiting for you on your porch!
Took my family out to see the ship. We spent a great afternoon swimming, storying and hanging out with the volunteers on the ship
Pacific Hope Day 6: We headed up to near Avery's village to do a mobile clinic, and to say thank you, they did some custom dancing for us at the end of the day.
The house they're building behind mine is coming along nicely
